1. Name: Katie
2. Age: 18
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both!!! I loved the books, but the films... wow, I read the books young, so I didnt quite grasp the enormity of middle earth, but now, flip me. tolkien created a whole world, languages, characters and a history, in his life, and its so real people like us want to believe it to be true. Peter Jackson spent over a decade of his life on LOTR and for that I am eternally grateful :)
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Aragorn, cos he is such a humble hero, and in the films Viggo is hot!!
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: ummm.. dear-o-dear. ummm the orcs? Saruman... cos they are evil... pure evil!
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: My fave book scene is everything with Tom Bombadil. I was gutted he didnt make the film
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Battle? in the extended edition at helms deep when Legolas and Gimli are telling eachother their death count :) ROFL, makes me laugh every time
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? Probably an elf, cos they get to live forever, and are cool, or a hobbit, cos they eat lots :) I like food
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Lothlorien... there is something so magical about it
10. How did you hear about this community? I searched on lj. :D

1. Name: Codi (also called Nedhudir, pronounced nehth-oo-deer)
2. Age: 15
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both, I'm actually reading the books tho, just finished Two Towers and starting on ROTK
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Oh no, why have you asked me this question!? Faramir (good lookin, great morals, mature, a good and just leader), Aragorn, (*sigh* my first love, good lookin, and great fighting skills, he looks so good scruffy that it's just not right when he's clean), Eomer (good lookin, a Rohirrim, derr, love his eyebrows S;-D, love his eyes, LOVE his horse, love his beard, his armor... do you really want me to go on with this?), Legolas (not ONLY because he's good lookin, but he's got AWESOME skills and, well, he's an elf! what more can I say?), and I like Quickbeam (because he's sweet and he laughs at every little thing which is so cute! :-D lol)
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: I don't like Frodo (don't be bombing me, he just grosses me out), and I hate Shelob (spiders give me the spooks)
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: Haven't read all the books yet so I won't comment on them, but for the movies I would have to say when Faramir and Eowyn get together, and Boromir's last stand. *sniffle* :'( Makes me tear up every time.
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: DEFINITELY the battle at Minas Tirith in ROTK, that ROCKED! :-D
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? I am SoOoO a Rohirrin shield-maiden, it's not even a guess, that's just what I AM! :D
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Rohan or Mirkwood
10. How did you hear about this community? I did a search for some cool lotr stuff, and FOUND it. :-D

P.S. If it's ok, I have a community that's pretty cool if you want to check it out: elvish_lalaith It's got lotr pictures, fan fictions, and some elvish language if that suits your fancy. :-D Come on in and visit!

1. Name: Britany(I also go by Ninniach)
2. Age: 17
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both, but moreso the books
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Ahh I have way too many. I'll narrow it down to Samwise(loyalty, devotion, courage, and he has the best quotes/speeches), Faramir(his character was great in the books, he too had some pretty uplifting quotes), and Gandalf(he possesses much wisdom and knowledge, and is a very good role-model!)
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: I don't have a least favourite
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: The Scouring of the Shire(books), The Breaking of the Fellowship(FotR movie)
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Helm's Deep
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? I already consider myself to be an Elf :)
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Minas Tirith or Lothlorien
10. How did you hear about this community? I found it while doing a search

1. Name: tranquility (though here as tranquil_me, a.k.a CaerMorhen)
2. Age:22
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both! Movies are great although there're some scenes I did not particularly like (e.g. Legolas' little stunt with the board at Helm's Deep -it was way too much, even for me, and I'm a liberal), some scenes which seemed too long, just like any movie. But this is an adaptation, and as such, it is one of the best I have ever seen! Jackson has a knack for fantasy, thank God he will be filming The Hobbit! As for the books, they're a masterpice, I'm going to take up some courses on Tolkien at my university, just for the sake of confronting my views with professors ;)
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: each one of them has something I admire or does something that reaches out to me: Eowyn - for her courage and strength of character: she's so different than Arwen, yet she embodies the 21st cent. woman the best; Faramir -for his struggle to gain appreciation of his father and to equal his brother; Legolas -ah, the mystery, endless posibilities for writers; Aragorn -a true Man! Gandalf -embodiment of fatherly figure; Sam -everlasting friendship and silent intelligence;
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: orcs - they're ugly, and they stink!
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: book scene: Tolkien's description of Frodo's groving burden before the quest; I was deeply moved by the way he described the alienating effect the ring had on the hobbit, so compassionate!
movie scene: Houses of Healing - the most romantic picture in the whole movie plus wonderful song of Liv Tyler, which I tend to play on constant repeat, just this one song!
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Helm's Deep, the moment when Lorien elves arive gives me goosebumps
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? I'd like to be an elf -wisdom and softness impersonated, but also a hobbit -great approach to life with it's simplicity
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Minas Tirith - amazing architecture!
Rivendell - though it was Lorien when time was put to a halt, but to me it's Rivendell
10. How did you hear about this community? random browsing

1. Name: Ellea Dawn
2. Age: 19
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both. I'm a true Tolkienite and even though the movies aren't exactly like the books, they are a very good adaptation as far as Hollywood goes.
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Galadriel, because she's a Lady, she's an Elf and she kicks ass!
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: oh god...I probably have to say Saruman. He's wicked but something about him grates my nerves.
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: The Council of Elrond from books and the movie. Hugo Weaving is an awesome Elrond and Sir Ian McKellan is Gandalf.
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Definitely the scene between the Balrog and Gandalf.
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? A hobbit. Most definitely a hobbit. They're brilliantly laid-back and rockishly cool.
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Errr...even though I am a hobbit, I'd have to say Mirkwood. Spooky yet filled with Elves.
10. How did you hear about this community? found it on a random search of lj.

1. Name: Jade
2. Age: 20
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Both!!! Peter Jackson and JRR Tolkien are geniouses!
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Legolas is my favorite because.... wait, do I really need to explain?  ;D
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: I really like something about all of them, but I guess my least favorite would be Wormtongue. He's so weird, although he was played to perfection in the films.
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: I love the "Three Hunters" scenes from the second book. Much more exciting than the same scenes from the film. I wish they had done that a little better. (That's my one and only complaint for the films.) My favorite scenes from the films are the Mines of Moria and the Ride of the Rohirrim.
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Well, I guess I already answered this one, didn't I? The only thing that really creeped me out was the scene where the Ringwraiths enter the Prancing Pony.
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? Elves don't sweat. I hate to sweat. Therefore, I would like to be an Elf.
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Either the Shire or Rivendell. I really can't decide. Can I have both?
10. How did you hear about this community? I didn't hear about it. I searched LJ for a LOTR community, and this is the one I chose. :D

Current Mood:bouncyLeaving for vacation tomorrow!
Hi, I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself like the rest of you did...

1. My name is Ellie and I dunno how I came up with this username. People mostly know me as Princess Merilien, but it was taken, so... :-P
2.
21
3. To tell you the truth, I had NO idea about Tolkien before I saw the movies, but after I did, I ran to buy the books. So, yes I am a fan of both.
4.
Legolas, and it's not because of Orlando Bloom... :-P I guess I like characters that have a mystery about them... Does he have dark or blond hair? How old is he? Where is his mother? (am I the only one who wonders??)
5. Denethor. He pisses me off.
6. Hmmm. Book: I REALLY cannot choose. I wrote an essay for my university studies and after reading thoroughly and analyzing the whole trilogy, I loved each scene for something. Movie: When Gandalf arrives to Minas Tirith and the lighting of the beacons.
7.  Favorite battle scene: The arrival of Rohirrim at Pelennor fields. Favorite Action scene: Legolas and the Mumakil. Wow. Favorite creepy scene: Shelob's Lair. I hate spiders!!
8. Elf of course! They can do almost anything!
9.
Minas Tirith. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it in the movie.
10. Just did an interest search.

By the way, I'll be posting a Legolas fanfic at my journal next week, so please feel free to come and take a look!

See ya!

1. Name: Jacque, but my username is Dae en'Naur, which (depending on whose translations you trust) means Shadow of Fire in Elvish. That particular name doesn't really have any special meaning- I just like it. =)
2. Age: 14. I'm going into 11th grade, though, so I've been told I'm 'mature' for my age- hahaha.
3. Are you a fan of BOTH the books and the movies? (If only one, tell us why): Well, sort of. I absolutely LOVE the books- I get lost in them all the time! They're my comfort books. And then the movies- they ARE good- but most movies made from my favourite books don't quite live up to my expectations. Putting my ridiculously high expectations aside, they were great. Except for the cheesey intro thing. Hahaha.
4. Favorite LotR Character, and why: Hmmm... Well, I do love Legolas, but only because in the books he makes me laugh and in the movies he's cute =), but overall favourite would have to be Frodo. He's such a strong character- it's great.
5. Least favorite LotR character, and why: Hmm... I never liked Eowyn. I mean, I cna respect her as a character, but (in the movies especially) she really bugs me. However, I do admire that she is a strong woman (plus she killed/helped kill the Witch King, so props to her!).
6. Favorite scene(s) from either the books or the movies, or both: Well, I  don't have a favourite scene in particular from the books, but every time Legolas says the word 'Alas' in the books, I giggle. I just have this vivid metal picture of him prancing and leaping around the forest, humming a jolly tune and shouting ALAS! at random people, haha. If I had to pick one scene from the movie, it would be the Council of Elrond- I'm not sure why I really liked that part, but there you go!
7. Favorite battle/action/creepy scene: Hmmm...  I like the Battle of Helm's Deep. That one's good (even though Peter Jackson killed off Haldir for no particular reason.).
8. If you lived in Middle Earth, what would you like to be (Hobbit, Elf, etc.)? Oh, an Elf, definitely. That would be so much fun!
9. Which place in Middle Earth would you most like to live in? Well, I guess since I decided to be an Elf, either Lothlorien or Mirkwood. Rivendell would be nice, I suppose, but Elrond gives me the heebie-jeebies.
10. How did you hear about this community? I'm new to lj, so I did a little interest search thing and Voila! Here I am!

I'm very excited to be a part of this, and I hope to meet some new people!
-<3 Jacque
